There is no denying that Friendly Fires put out the feel-good album of the year (thus far) last week. The full-sounding dance machine mayhem they’ve unleashed is near-perfect. They have proven that it’s possible to make smart, tasteful pop music without selling yourself short. “Show Me Light” is a highlight of the album and its huge drums and R&B-tinged melodies will have you shaking like an electric maraca.
